The Asteria Indie Collective, is a collection of local artists, aiming to create a memorable harmonious, multi-cultural and interactive experience, affordable and accessible for all ages in the community. Asteria, meaning "stars" in Greek, exemplifies our aim by illustrating the unifying impact of eclectic artists in creation. Our focus as a group of friends was to harmonize our passionate talents, uniting our independent businesses and pursuits towards building a progressive community & business platform. Inspired lightly by the Brooklyn Night Bazaar & the plethora of market/festival we have vended in the past, we come together as a group of jewelry & clothing designers, dancers, teachers, cooks, spiritual practitioners, painters, photographers, body adorners, illustrators & more, in pursuit of a space that is accessible to those outside of the area, with our own particular style & flavor. By showcasing our individual items for sale, hosting an all day show of mini-workshops & dance performances for children & adults, we intend to make this a wholesome event, one where you can enjoy with your children, partner or alone. 

 

In conjunction with the time of day, the Asteria Indie Collective will appropriately organize said performances with food & drink vendors providing adequate & delicious meals/beverages for our youth during the day, following a shift of ambiance & menu during the evening , to indicate the independent performance artists & painters that follow. Asteria Indie Collective was birthed from the minds of Debbie Lakis Cartsos, Lorenia Henriquez & Tatianna Morales, whom felt a strong need for a diverse market where artists/entrepreneurs of all kinds can connect to create a dynamic experience for all to benefit from. As artists & blooming entrepreneurs, we were inspired by the innovative talent & budding support from friends around us & the countless opportunities to grow and create in our community. Our hearts are set on promoting the arts, new entrepreneurs & supporting those in need. A.I.C intends to provide a warm & multi-sensory experience, providing unique items and an ambiance that will create a lasting memory.
